Case# 021: PS injection parts, passed mechanical test with aid of TK additive

Customer concerns:

1. customer has both quality and production defects for their current 70/30 resin formulation  
2. customer continues to looking for cost reduction programs 

Tests Brief:

In order to verify TK's benefit in the shortest possible duration, the customer asks TK being tested under extreme condition. Use 100% recycled PS for both TEST and CONTROL. The only difference is TEST cell include 1% of TK-3 (TK masterbatch) with 100% recycled PS and there's no TK for CONTROL cell.

Tests Result: 1. the impact strength is significantly improved from averagely 75 to 95 joules/m2 per ASTM D256.
2. glossier surface of the injected parts
3. color dispersion is noted
Summary: Customer feels surprised with the test result and will arrange more production run with high % recycled resin; customer will fine tune their process in order to achieve the maximum possible cost saving with help of TK additives.
